True Peace and Worry

I have come to really like how God talks about peace and being worried. In out society we are faced by very many things that create worry in us and make us loose peace. Someone wise said that Worry is not the absence, but the lack of the ability of control and trust in God. There are so many people that live right now that own mansions, and wealthy and rich, but in their life they have no peace. That may seem very big because not all of us own mansions, or wealthy, or even rich. But maybe something that we can relate with. For example, someone may have a job and he or she is worried that they might loose it. They worry whether their boss was impressed with how they handle themselves, or whether they will be yelled at the next day. Some worry all night about loosing their jobs. Sometimes it's not the fact that we cannot get what we want, it's the worry that we will loose what we already have. Before we go on what is Peace? Worry?

Peace is total well-being, prosperity, and security associated with God’s presence among his people. Linked in the Old Testament with the covenant between God and Abraham’s descendants, the presence of peace was conditional, based on Israel’s obedience. In the prophetic writings, true peace was part of the end-time hope of God’s salvation. In the New Testament, this longed-for peace was understood as having come in Christ to be experienced by the believers.
Worry (fretting) is very destructive emotion. It reveals a lack of faith that God loves us and is in control. To worry is human. We worry about job security. We worry about unexpected expenses. We worry when our children ride their bikes around the block for the first time. Worry is a normal and natural part of life. But too much worry can distract and paralyze-and can even lead to a sinful denial of God’s presence and grace in our lives. Scripture teaches that we find rest from inappropriate worry when we admit we can’t control the future and entrust ourselves-and our loved ones-to the God who does.

It's good to have this definition, but what can we learn from Characters from bible characters and the bible itself?
Let's begin with Peter..
In Acts 12:6-15, Peter teaches us a lesson about perfect peace. The story behind this is that Peter and James were put to prison and when they were there, James was killed by Herod. After he saw that he people loved that act so much, he wanted to kill Peter. He knew that after killing Peter, he would be very popular. The night before Peter was killed,Peter was fast asleep. he was not worried about death. The reason being that Jesus had told him that he would die an old man and not young. If you can remember in Isaiah the bible says that the word of God never returns void. So the fact that he trusted the word of God he was not worried. If you can read chapter you will find that all the other disciples were worried and in deep prayer while Peter was fast asleep. In Fact, in the same chapter of Acts, "7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me." As you can see we can call Peter and heavy sleeper. He had to be smitten, raised, and talked to so that he can wake up. Talk about Peace. Talk about Trust. Talk about Belief in the word of God our King.
In the same Manner look at Daniel. Everyone else was worried apart from him. In fact, I think the Den was cold because he slept right in the middle of the lions. Maybe for heat. The king who had thrown Daniel in the pit was so worried that he himself did not sleep all night. He gnashed his teeth, hoping that when he woke up in the morning he would find Daniel safe. That is what I call Faith in the word of God. Faith that God would take care of you regardless of the fracas.

Proverbs 14:30  "A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones."
Proverbs 17:1 "Better a dry crust eaten in peace than a house filled with feasting—and conflict."
Psalms 85:7-9 "Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory."
Psalms 37:37 "Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace."

So this is how you get peace. Don't Worry. Matthew 25:25-34 says  “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God* above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

I hope this will Change your insight on how God wants you to live. He is a loving God. He does not want you to have White hair thinking of something he can solve. The amazing thing is that he can solve all things. Live life, We were lost but now we have been found. We are at home with daddy who takes care of all things. You are Blessed
